Third Lawsuit Filed Against Lumber Liquidators

Newport News, VA, Jan. 24, 2014 -- A third federal class action suit over alleged violation of the Lacey Act and other problems has been filed against Lumber Liquidators, this time in the U.S. District Court for Virginia.

The suit, filed Jan. 14, seeks more than $5 million in damages and relief on behalf of all purchasers of Lumber Liquidators' Chinese-made flooring in Alabama, New York and Virginia, the home states of the four named plaintiffs.

A previous suit covered customers throughout the U.S, while the initial suit was filed on behalf of company shareholders.

All three suits result from allegations that Lumber Liquidators sold Chinese-made flooring that was allegedly made from illegally harvested timber, and contained illegal levels of formaldehyde.

Last September, federal agents raided the company's corporate offices in Toano, Virginia.
