Specialty Firm Conforce Closes for Retooling

Peru, IN, Jan. 25, 2013 -- Conforce USA, which makes flooring for shipping containers, has closed its doors for the second time in a year to retool its machinery, according to WLFI.com.

The website reported that Conforce recently shut down its Peru plant to adjust the machinery it uses to make its composite EKO-FLOR flooring, which is used in semitrailers and other shipping containers as an alternative to hardwood flooring.

Conforce began operation in May 2011 but idled all of its workers except for managers a year later to retool the flooring product. The plant reopened last August.
