Shaw Industries' Dr. Stricklen Receives AMI Turf Industry Award

Dalton, GA, March 18, 2016—Dr. Phil Stricklen, director of R&D for Shaw Industries' turf brands, has received an award from Applied Market Information, Ltd.

Stricklen received an award for his contribution to the development of synthetic turf testing standards, which are used throughout the industry.

Stricklen serves as the Synthetic Turf Task Group chairman for the ASTM, a leader in the development and delivery of voluntary consensus standards. He also serves on the Sports Testing and Sports Terminology committees of the ASTM. In addition, he serves on the Technical and Infill committees for the Synthetic Turf Council and is a member of the Turf Suppliers Committee of the NFL.

Stricklen has over 25 years’ experience in the development of new polymers, fibers, and synthetic turf products. He has a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Iowa State University.
