Senator Urges Dal-Tile To Keep Olean Plant

Olean, NY, Aug. 23, 2012 -- New York Sen. Chuck Schumer is trying to convince Dal-Tile not to close a plant in Olean, according to the Olean Times Herald.

Schumer told the newspaper he has spoken with John C. Turner Jr., president of Dal-Tile, and urged him to keep the Olean plant open.

Schumer also urged Turner to bring more work to the facility.

The newspaper reported that Dal-Tile officials are evaluating the daily operations and cost effectiveness of the company’s facilities in Olean and Gettysburg, Pa.

Both plants manufacture mosaic tile.
