Scott Humphrey Tapped to Lead WFCA

Anaheim, CA, March 13, 2013--Scott Humphrey has been named as the new president and CEO of the World Floor Covering Association, effective April 1.  

In this role, Humphrey will lead the WFCA staff to serve this 3,000-member organization and drive its core initiatives.

Humphrey will serve as a visionary leader tasked with developing a long-range plan for the Anaheim, California-based association. He will serve as spokesman for WFCA with media and industry and will be responsible for directing the creation of national trade and consumer advertising campaigns and image-building promotions to raise awareness of targeted WFCA initiatives. In addition, he will be charged with identifying and seeking opportunities to develop alliances and partnerships with other organizations that will drive growth and business for members and the industry overall.

The WFCA’s purpose is to provide its retailer members and industry partners leadership and resources to raise the visibility of flooring to end-users, facilitate the training and education that raises the level of professionalism in the industry, and minimize the issues and legislative hurdles that hinders the growth of all floorcovering products.

“I'm passionate about our industry and its future, and I am thrilled to be joining the WFCA at a critical time in its history,” said Humphrey. “I am confident that with the gifted staff at WFCA, we can drive positive growth and innovation throughout the industry.”

Prior to this appointment, Humphrey has been with Shaw Industries for 24 years, most recently serving as the director of the Shaw’s aligned dealer network--charged with managing all the programs that service 2100 of Shaw’s most loyal retailers. Humphrey’s has also served in a training, motivating and recruitment role at Shaw.

Humphrey graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and spends much of his free time teaching “Life Skills” that help people grow and prosper. One of Humphrey’s mentors was Zig Zigler, and for the past eight years, Humphrey’s has authored a column in Floor Focus Magazine called People Power. Humphrey is married and lives with his wife and four children (he has triplet daughters and one son) in Chatsworth, Georgia.
