Productivity Falls for Third Straight Quarter

Washington, DC, Aug. 9, 2016 -- Productivity declined for the third straight quarter, according to new data from the Labor Department.

Productivity in the second quarter fell 0.5%.

Economists had forecast a 0.3% gain for the quarter.

Productivity is down 0.4% from a year ago, marking the first year-over-year decline since the second quarter of 2013.
