No Signs of Inflation in Producer Price Index

Washington, DC, May 15, 2012 -- U.S. producer prices fell by the largest amount in three years in April as gasoline and food costs plunged, according to the Labor Department.

The government said its seasonally adjusted producer price index fell 0.7% last month, the biggest decline since February 2010. Wholesale prices had dropped 0.6% in March.
