NAFCD Q2 Sales Trends Report Indicates Slightly Slowed Growth

Chicago, IL, October 26, 2015—The National Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) has released the 2015 Q2 NAFCD Quarterly Sales Trends Report, which showed that growth overall the past 90 days has slowed slightly.

While Q2 growth rates improved roughly 1 point (versus Q1) for distributors, growth rates slowed 4 points for manufacturers. Both groups also lowered Q3 and full-year forecasts; however, there is still optimism around growth prospects versus the same period a year ago.

Distributor sales increased 5% in Q2, roughly 1 point better than the 4% growth in Q1. Compared to expectations for the quarter, 30% of distributors came in better than forecast offset by 29% of distributors below forecasts.

For manufacturers, the report indicated that sales slowed in Q2, with growth up 6% versus Q1 (up 10%); however, Q3 appeared to be off to a solid start with July and August sales growth both up 8%.
