Mortgage Rates Rise Fifth Straight Week

Washington, DC, June 6, 2013 -- The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose for the fifth consecutive week, averaging 3.91% in the week ending June 6, up from 3.81% the prior week, Freddie Mac said Thursday.

The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage rose above 3% for the first time in over a year, climbing to 3.03% from 2.98%.

The 5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 2.74%, up from 2.66%, and the one-year Treasury-indexed ARM averaged 2.58%, up from 2.54%.
