Mohawk's Wright Named Chairman of Two Groups

Amelia Island, FL, May 6, 2013 -- The Georgia Association of Manufacturers and the Manufacturers Education Foundation each elected new officers and Board members at the 113th Annual Meeting of GAM and the 70th Annual Meeting of MEF.

Miles Wright, vice president of commercial manufacturing for Mohawk Industries, was elected chairman of both groups.

Wright has spent 41 years in the textile and flooring industries with a variety of companies, including Dan River, Collins & Aikman, Queen Carpets, Mohasco, Mannington Mills, and Mohawk.  He has extensive experience in the manufacturing of woven fabrics, upholstery, yarns, and automotive carpets and products.  His background includes positions in industrial engineering, training, safety management, and manufacturing management.

Mike Gorey, CEO of Propex, was elected to a two-year term on the board of directors of both groups, along with J. T. Watters, III, president of Patriot Mills, and Terry Wilson, director of sales and marketing for the Polyurethane Group, Textile Rubber & Chemical Company.
