Mohawk Releases Sixth Sustainability Report Online

Calhoun, GA, July 28, 2015—Mohawk’s sixth annual sustainability report, which was released online this week, details how the company has honed its ability to grow profitably and responsibly, while acquiring and integrating 30 businesses in the past three decades.

Through accurate, audited reporting and transparent data, this year’s document showcases how Mohawk has grown in a variety of ways that benefit customers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment.

Highlights include:

* Nearly $4 billion of investments in acquisitions and capital improvements since 2013

* Double-digit percentage improvements across all safety metrics

* Strong progress toward 2020 goals of reducing energy, greenhouse gasses (GHG), water and waste to landfill

o   Energy Intensity down more than 11%

o   Greenhouse Gas Intensity down more than 9%

o   Water Intensity down nearly 16%

o   Waste to Landfill Intensity down more than 13%

·        *  In addition to a fifth straight year of reductions in energy intensity, the company also saw a reduction in absolute energy use, even as Mohawk’s footprint expanded

* Expansion of sustainable best practices across all businesses

Zero Waste to Landfill initiative successfully implemented within all business segments

* Continued growth in the area of product transparency with environmental product declarations, health product declarations and Declare labels now covering a larger percentage of the product base

* Once again recognized by Newsweek as one of the top green companies in the United States
