Metroflor/Halstead Embarking on Crush MS Campaign

Norwalk, CT, September 24, 2015—Metroflor/Halstead Corporation employees have embarked on a philanthropic effort to raise awareness and funds for supporting the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The company has created a “Crush MS Campaign” on the crowd funding site GoFundMe to reach the goal of $25,000 externally, in addition to what will be donated corporately.

Beyond the GoFundMe campaign, the company will host a golf outing in the spring of 2016 and an Electronic Silent Auction, where individuals can bid on donated prizes, gifts and memorabilia.

An estimated 2.3 million people worldwide have MS, although the actual number might be even higher, as the symptoms can be completely invisible. Research indicates that people with MS may live an average of six to seven years less than the general population, due to complications brought on by the disease or when compounded with other medical conditions.
