Little Sign of Consumer Inflation in February

Washington, DC, March 18, 2014 --  Consumer inflation remained tame in February, according to the Labor Department.

The government said its Consumer Price Index edged up 0.1% as lower gasoline prices offset higher food costs.

Over the last year, consumer prices increased 1.1%.

The so-called core CPI also rose 0.1%.

Food prices rose 0.4%, the largest increase since September 2011.
