Lewis Bros. Lumber Earns NWFA/NOFMA Mill Certification

St. Louis, Mo, August 28, 2015—The National Wood Flooring Association has announced that Lewis Bros. Lumber Co. in Aliceville, Alabama has earned the NWFA/NOFMA Mill Certification.

Jeff Lewis, president, and David Lewis, vice president, are third-generation owners of Lewis Brothers Lumber Co., which was started in 1948 by A.B. Lewis. The company manufactures grade hardwood lumber offered in red oak, white oak, poplar and ash.

The company opened its flooring division this year, offering red oak and white oak in Select/Btr, No. 1 and No. 2 in 2¼ and 3¼.

The NWFA/NOFMA certification shows that a manufacturer’s wood flooring meets or exceeds the industry standards for grade, configuration, moisture content, and average board length. Certified mills are inspected a minimum of two times per year to ensure consistent grade standards are met.
