Job Growth Picks Up in February
Washington, DC, March 7, 2014 -- The economy added 175,000 jobs in February, rebounding from a disappointing number in January, according to Labor Department figures.
However, the unemployment rate ticked up to 6.7%, from 6.6% in January as more people were looking for jobs.
Economists had been expecting a lower number of jobs due to severe winter weather in February.
Hiring picked up across many sectors. Construction added 15,000 jobs.
