Initial Jobless Claims Surge After Storm

Washington, DC, Nov. 15, 2012 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits rose 78,000 to a seasonally adjusted 439,000, the Labor Department said.

The increase was apparently largely due to Superstorm Sandy.
