Initial Jobless Claims Highest Since September
Washington, DC, Jan. 15, 2015 – Initial claims for unemployment benefits last week increased to the highest level since early September, according to the Labor Department.
Initial claims rose by 19,000 to a seasonally adjusted 316,000 for the week ended Jan. 10.
Economists expected claims to fall to 291,000 last week.
The four-week moving average of claims rose by 6,750 to 298,000.
