Initial Jobless Applications Jump Last Week

Washington, DC, May 16, 2013 -- The Labor Department said initial applications for unemployment benefits rose by 32,000 to 360,000 in the week that ended Saturday.

The department revised last week's estimate from 323,000 to 328,000.

The four-week rolling average for the week rose by 1,250 to 338,000.
