Initial Jobless Applications Fall 16,000 Last Week

Washington, DC, April 25, 2013 -- Initial applications for unemployment benefits last week fell by 16,000, according to the Labor Department.

Claims dropped to a seasonally adjusted 339,000. The prior week's number was revised to show 3,000 more applications than previously estimated.

Analysts had expected 351,000 new claims.

The four-week moving average for new claims fell 4,500 to 357,500.
