Initial Applications for Jobless Benefits Fall to 15 Year Low

Washington, DC, April 30, 2015—The number of Americans applying for first-time unemployment benefits fell last week to the lowest level in 15 years, reports the Labor Department.

Initial jobless claims fell by 34,000 to a seasonally adjusted 262,000 for the week ended April 25, the lowest level for initial claims since April 15, 2000.
