IVC Acquires Laminate Maker Trinterio

Avelgem, Belgium, Jan. 28, 2013 -- IVC , the largest Western European manufacturer of residential vinyl flooring, has reached an agreement with broadloom firm Balta Industries to acquire laminate flooring manufacturer Trinterio.

Ackermans & Van Haaren had sold its interest in Trinterio to Balta.

Ackermans & Van Haaren also said it sold the Spanogroup to Mohawk division Unilin.

In 2012, Trinterio had sales of $242 million through the Balterio Laminate Flooring Division and Spanolux, a producer of MDF panels. The company has 375 employees.

Jan Vergote, CEO of the IVC Group, said "Balterio and Spanolux will become independent divisions within the IVC Group. We are looking forward to the synergies in the field of R&D for the development of a new generation of hard floors and MDF-based products."
