ITC Raises Chinese Anti-Dumping Penalties for Most Firms

Washington, DC, June 2, 2014 -- Anti-dumping duties were raised for most Chinese companies involved in the engineered hardwood flooring dispute with the International Trade Commission.

Last week the commission raised the penalty for those companies (70 total) from 3.30% to 5.74%.

Two companies, however, saw their assessment rates dropped to zero. They included Armstrong Wood Products, whose products are made by Kunshan Yingyi-Nature Wood Industry Co., and Nanjing Minglin Wooden Industry Co. That brings the total to four companies with no penalties.

Companies that did not submit paperwork for the case were assessed a rate of 58.84%.

The companies were accused of dumping flooring into the U.S. at less than fair market value, thereby undercutting domestic producers.
