Houston Retailer Builds Swimming Pool Using Shaw's LifeGuard Carpet

Houston, TX, October 19, 2015—Color Interiors Floor Center, a flooring retailer with three locations in northern Houston, built a swimming pool using Shaw carpet with LifeGuard backing to demonstrate the highly moisture resistant characteristics of the residential soft surface product.

The retailer formed an 18’x18’ pool using a metal frame constructed for the demonstration; the frame was placed atop another Shaw product, its waterproof LVT product Floorte.

LifeGuard backing is a 100% thermoplastic commercial grade backing that fully protects the padding and subfloor in the case of spills. According to Shaw, it is the first residential carpet product to offer a waterproof barrier. The face fiber on LifeGuard products feature Shaw’s R2X Stain and Soil Resistance Protection.

"This pool-themed promotion was successful in creating a lot of energy and awareness for Color Interiors,” said Color Interiors president Mark Carr,  “and we’re running a sales event this weekend that will piggyback on this heightened awareness."
