House Prices Rise in December at Slower Pace
New York, NY, Feb. 25, 2014 -- The S&P/Case-Shiller index of property values in 20 major cities rose 13.4% from December 2012.
That was down slightly from the 13.7% in the year ended in November.
It was the first deceleration since June.
Harsh winter weather and higher interest rates dampened sales.
Prices covering all of the U.S. climbed 11.3% in the fourth quarter from the same period in 2012, compared with an 11.2% gain in the quarter ended in September.
