Home Prices Rose 5% YOY, Says S&P/Case-Shiller

New York, NY, April 28, 2015—Home prices in 20 U.S. cities rose 5% between February 2014 and February 2015, a sign the housing market may be gaining momentum, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller index of property values.

This comes on the heels of a 4.5% in the year ended in January.

The increase in values may persuade more homeowners to put their homes up for sale, relieving the limited inventory in the market and encouraging prospective buyers.
