Four Generation Flooring Business Closing

New Castle, DE, April 28, 2014 -- Miller Carpet One Floor & Home is closing after 114 years in business.

The family owned business, which has survived through four generations, started with a horse and cart in downtown Wilmington, Delaware.

Three brothers who immigrated from Russia created Miller's Furniture Industries which at one time was ranked among the nation's largest furniture stores.

The company blamed the economic downturn and increased competition from big-box stores.
