FieldTurf USA Accused of Knowingly Selling Bad Fields

Calhoun, GA, March 31, 2016—FieldTurf USA Inc., based in Calhoun, Georgia, is being sued for failing to meet its product warranty obligations, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Three California based schools—Chaffey Joint Union High School, Bret Harte Union High School and Crystal Springs Upland School—are seeking combined damages of $15.7 million in three federal lawsuits in a California federal court.

The suits claim that fields made and sold by FieldTurf did not reach their guaranteed life expectancy, and following the failure, FieldTurf did not honor its warranties to replace the fields.

The schools also allege that FieldTurf knew the fields were faulty because the company, in 2011, filed a suit against its fiber supplier for providing faulty fibers. That suit was settled in 2014.
