Fannie, Freddie Foreclosure Preventions Decline

Washington, DC, Sept. 30, 2014 -- Approximately 80,000 foreclosure prevention actions were completed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the second quarter,  according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency's quarterly Foreclosure Prevention Report.

That was down from about 89,000 completed in the first quarter,

Of those, about 49,000 were loan modifications. About 13,000 were repayments plans; about 3,000 were forbearance plans; and about 486 were charge-off-in-lieu plans. Also, there were About 11,000 were short sales and 4,000 were deed-in-lieu deals.

Also, about 14,500 home forfeiture actions were completed.
