Durable Goods Orders Fall Most in Seven Months

Washington, DC, April 24, 2013 -- Durable goods orders fell by the most in seven months in March, according to the Commerce Department.

Orders declined 5.7% as demand fell almost across the board, the government said. The drop last month followed a 4.3% increase in February.

Economists had expected orders to fall 2.8%. Excluding transportation, orders declined 1.4% after falling 1.7% the prior month.
