Chattanooga, TN, Jan. 2, 2013 -- The Dixie Group is taking over some Stainmaster products formerly produced by Gulistan and will market them through its Dixie Home division.
Gulistan, which operates in North Carolina, recently announced that it is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Dixie is not purchasing any Gulistan assets, only the rights to the products, which will be produced by Dixie after a short transition period.
Dixie Group CEO Dan Frierson said (listen to today's interview) that the products will give Dixie Home a more complete Stainmaster product line. The two companies, he said, share many of the same customers.
Gulistan's customers have been notified of the changes.
