Distributive Trade Sales & Shipments Up 0.1% in July

Washington, DC, September 15, 2015—The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for July was estimated at $1,328.0 billion, up 0.1% from June 2015, but was down 2.7% from July 2014, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories were estimated at an end-of-month level of $1,812.4 billion, up 0.1% from June 2015 and were up 2.6% from July 2014.

The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of July was 1.36. The July 2014 ratio was 1.29.
