Demand for Airline Carpet Key to Mohawk's NC Expansion

Eden, NC, May 27, 2015—Demand for airline carpet was a key driver in Mohawk's decision to expand its Eden, North Carolina plant, reports the Triad Business Journal.

According to Darin Quesinberry, Mohawk plant manager, the Eden plant will triple its output.

Quesinberry said that the firm's commercial carpet business declined over the years, but that the expansion will "take us back up to the levels we were in 2007-2009," the Triad Business Journal reports.
