Core Capital Goods Orders Jumped Last Month

Washington, DC, Nov. 27, 2012 -- Orders for U.S. durable goods leveled off in October, according to the Commerce Department.

There was less demand for autos and aircraft.

Excluding the volatile defense and transportation industries, core capital orders jumped 1.7% last month to mark the strongest gain since May.

Overall orders for durable goods were virtually flat in October.
