Consumer Confidence Improves in January

New York, NY, Jan. 28, 2014 --  Consumer confidence increased in January, the Conference Board said.

The board's measurements of both the present situation and expectations improved last month as the overall confidence index rose to 80.7 in January from 77.5 in December.

Consumers said both business conditions and the job market improved.

Consumers also expect the economy and salaries to improve over the next several monts.
