Consumer Confidence Highest Since August 2007

New York, NY, Jan. 27, 2015 -- Consumer confidence rose to another recent high in December, according to the Conference Board’s consumer-confidence index.

The measure rose to 102.9 from 93.1 in December, the best reading since August 2007.

The present situation index rose to 112.6 from 99.9, and the expectations index climbed to 96.4 from 88.5.

Falling gasoline prices and an improving job market fueled the increase.
