Consumer Confidence Declines in February

New York, NY, March 2, 2015—Consumer confidence fell in February after increasing in January, according to the Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index.

The measure decreased to 96.4, down from 103.8 the month before.

The Present Situation Index also decreased, from 113.9 to 110.2, and the Expectations Index fell to 87.2 from 97.0 in January.

The Conference Board’s director of economic indicators Lynn Franco reports that consumer confidence still remains at pre-recession levels.
