Consumer Confidence Again at Seven-Year High

New York, NY, Aug. 26, 2014 -- Consumer confidence hit a seven-year high in August for the second straight month, according to the Conference Board.

The board's index of consumer confidence increased to 92.4 this month from 90.3 in July. Both readings were the highest since October 2007.

Rising stock prices, six straight months of 200,000-plus job gains and declining gasoline prices have all contributed to the brighter consumer attitude.
