Chicago Area Manufacturing Accelerates

Chicago, IL, Feb. 28, 2013 -- The Chicago PMI, a measure of Chicago-area manufacturing, grew in February to the highest level since March, according to the Institute for Supply Management.

The index rose to 56.8 from 55.6 in January, ahead economists' expectations of 54.0. New orders rose to a reading of 60.2 from 58.2 in January. Readings over 50 indicate expansion.
