Carpet Designer Icon Jack Mishkin Dies

Cartersville, GA, May 12, 2014 -- Jack Leonard Mishkin, founder of the JMish carpet firm, died May 9.

After graduation from Valley State, he joined his father's carpet mill, Hollytex, and began his life's work in floor covering.

He co-founded Bentley Carpet Mills in 1979.

He became a master of product development, understanding as few at the time could the creative possibilities of commercial, broadloom carpet.

His design standard was always industry leading and his reputation for honesty and integrity was well-known.

Bentley actively sought international trade opportunities and Mishkin led trade missions around Europe and was one of the first entrepreneurs to go to South Korea and China.

After he sold Bentley Mills, he invested in Monterrey Carpets. When Monterrey was sold, he took a giant leap into residential carpets in 2004 by founding JMish and building his new brand in Cartersville, Georgia.
