Beazer Homes Narrows Loss on Higher Sales

Atlanta, GA, Jan. 31, 2014 -- Beazer Homes reported a much smaller quarterly loss than it did a year ago on rising revenues.

The homebuilder reported a loss of $5.1 million, compared to a loss of $20.3 million a year ago.

Revenues rose to $293 million from $247 million in the same period of 2012.

“We continued to make year-over-year improvements in our key operational metrics during the quarter,” said CEO Allan Merrill.

“Higher sales per community, average sales prices and gross margins led us to improved adjusted EBITDA and kept us on track to achieve full year profitability for fiscal 2014.”
