Beasley Forest Products to Purchase Battle Lumber Company Businesses

Macon, GA, July 7, 2015—Beasley Forest Products, Inc. of Hazlehurst, Georgia has entered into an agreement with Battle Lumber Company, Inc. to purchase Battle’s wholly-owned subsidiaries BLC Hardwood Flooring, LLC and Wood Fiber Technologies, LLC, both located in Macon, Georgia.

BLC Hardwood Flooring is a manufacturer of unfinished and prefinished solid wood flooring. Its products are sold worldwide under many labels through retailers and wholesale distributors.

Wood Fiber Technologies is a manufacturer of wood flour that is sold throughout the United States. Wood flour is used as a base material for composite decking and similar products, foundry molds, fire logs, and many other products. Wood flour is also commonly used as a drilling fluid additive for oil and gas production.

Says Jason Delves, president of BLC Hardwood Flooring and Wood Fiber Technologies, “We currently employ approximately 135 employees in Macon, Georgia and plan for this number to grow significantly over the next two years under Beasley. Battle, a family owned business since 1962, has been a great steward of both companies here in Macon for more than a decade. After acquiring these companies out of turn-around situations and successfully rebuilding them into thriving businesses, Battle is now taking advantage of a unique opportunity to sell them to a company motivated to see their growth continue. This transaction provides Beasley with new outlets for expanding production as the company continues to invest in new opportunities. Beasley is no stranger to growth and diversification as, in addition to sawmill operations, Beasley also manages and owns wood pellet mills, a shavings plant and a power plant.”
