B Carpet Using New Manufacturing Process

Dalton, GA, May 13, 2013 -- Commercial carpet maker B Carpet said it is using a new eight-color manufacturing process called Octacia.

Using B Carpet’s patented Tapistron computer yarn placement technology, Octacia accommodates a larger palette of eight colors, something no other CYP tufting machine in the world can do, according to the firm.

B Carpet’s technology enables the company to make various tuft densities, and run between 100 and 200 tufts per square inch. B Carpet said it can create unique patterns with all cut pile, all loop pile, or cut and loop custom-designed and custom-colored for a project using wool or solution-dyed nylon.

The wider eight-color palette means the company's carpet designs can compete with woven Axminster products, said President Elizabeth Moore.
