Armstrong Reports Lower Sales, Income for Quarter

Lancaster, PA, Aug. 12, 2016 -- Armstrong Flooring reported lower second quarter revenues and income compared to a year ago.

Armstrong said net sales for the quarter were $323.7 million, down from $326.6 million last year.

Net income fell from $8.6 million to $5.7 million. The firm earned $0.20 per share, down from $0.31 a year ago.

Armstrong Flooring began operating as a separate company in April.

“I am especially pleased with our continued growth in the Luxury Vinyl Tile and Wood product categories," said CEO said Don Maier.

"However, total revenues were challenged by industry price pressures and weakness in the Pacific Rim region. That said, our first half results for 2016 are on track to deliver on our medium-term goals.”

Resilient net sales dipped to $194.7 million from $199.9 million, while wood sales ticked up to $129 million from $126.7 million.
