Ark Floors Accused of Selling Laminate with High Levels of Formaldehyde, NYT

South El Monte, CA, November 10, 2015—The hedge fund manager who accused Lumber Liquidators of selling laminate flooring with high levels of formaldehyde is now accusing California-based Ark Floors, an importer of China-made laminate, of the same, according to the New York Times.

Tests of five types of Ark laminate conducted by HPVA Laboratories at the request of Whitney Tilson, the hedge fund manager who runs Kase Capital Management, revealed formaldehyde levels far above what is allowed by the California Air Resources Board.

It is both unclear where Ark products are sold and whether they are still being sold. Wayfair, which listed the product for sale on both its website and through Walmart.com, reports that it has sold only ten orders of the product since December 2014.
