Architectural Billings Index Down in April

Washington, DC, May 20, 2015—The Architecture Billings Index fell to 48.8 in April, says the American Institute of Architects.

The March reading was 51.7; a reading of over 50 indicates an increase in billings.

The index, an indicator of U.S. non-residential building activity that is based on a survey of U.S. architects, reflects the roughly nine to 12 months between architecture billings and construction spending.
