Hanover, MD, June 29, 2012 -- Cork and resilient firm Amorim said it has seen growing sales in the first quarter.
The firm's Floor & Wall Coverings business unit, which integrates all of the company’s floor-covering operations, recorded increased sales of 15% to $41.9 million.
This comes on the heels of a 6% increase for all of 2011.
The rise in sales in the first quarter was attributed by Amorim primarily to higher shipments.
According to the company, both shipments of its own timber and cork flooring products as well as shipments of trade goods increased, with growth being especially pronounced in LVT flooring.
Amorim reports growth in North America.
